About Us

Meet Ali Henning

Ali started riding horses at the age of two, and competed through her youth in 4H and local shows in the all-around events. Through high school, Ali worked for Drs. Daniel Bushard and Mary Hanrahan at their large and small animal practice as a veterinary assistant. Dr. Hanrahan specialized in general equine management, dentistry, and reproduction.

Ali attended UW-River Falls, where she obtained her BS in Animal Sciences, Equine Option with a General Science Minor. Throughout college, Ali worked for Dr. Robert Racich, who specialized in performance horse lamenesses and corrective shoeing. 

Upon completing her degree in 2005, Ali worked for Brian Welman Training Center of Hastings, MN. Brian Welman specialized in reining horses. In 2008, Ali moved to the La Crosse, WI area and worked with Wild Winds Ranch and Wild Winds Training of West Salem, WI as the all-around trainer and instructor. 

In late 2010, Ali started Henning Performance Horses and operated out of Hestedalen POAs in West Salem, WI. Here Ali started her path in working with the POAs. Since then, Ali has helped coach and train clients to supreme championships, versatility champions, national championships and year end high points, and national futurity championships and high points. In 2018, HPH moved to Sparta, WI, and is currently operating out of Dutch Mill Farms.
